Anonymous Chloe I was just going through your portfolio (i'm in awe, btw) and when looking through your photography section I was wondering, when shooting film, do you first shoot the image you're envisioning with digital to ensure it be framed correctly and to achieve the perfect settings? I've heard of some photographers doing this. And second, I shoot with a Nikon SLR and I want the Canon AE-1 SO badly, how much did you pay for yours? buying a canon lens is what's holding me back.. serious $$$
Hey, thanks! I don’t pre-frame with a digital camera—I just take the time I need to compose and shoot the picture. I really like not being able to see the product instantly. It’s one of the big reasons I reach for my film camera in the first place.
The AE-1 I use is actually my mother’s. She’s had it since college. It has a 50mm lens, which shouldn’t be very expensive—I highly recommend it.
