Anonymous you've probably been asked a trillion times (so im sorry if this seems redundant).. which cameras do you use? and what would you say are the best ones to invest in? i personally enjoy manuel, but my cousin needs a dslr.

My digital camera is a Nikon D80 (very soon to upgrade. Not sure to what yet). My analog cameras are a Canon AE-1, a Fujifilm Instax Mini (soon to be upgraded to an Instax 210), and a Diana+. 

For a beginning photographer, I’d recommend a Nikon D40 or D40x. The automatic settings produce nice results, you can still shoot manually, and they’re both a few years old now (money saver!). If you’re more experienced, buy as expensive as you can go (considering your needs for the camera first and foremost)—that way you won’t need to upgrade right away.
